Please read the following information and instructions carefully. It contains everything you need to know to have an enjoyable and safe race.
RACE DAY INFORMATION
7:30 – 9:30am – Registration (adults & juniors)
Please go to the Rowing Club adjacent to the start/finish line to sign in & collect race numbers etc.
9:15 – 9:45am Junior Races
9:50 – Please assemble at start line on the De La Warr Pavilion Lawns by this time for the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k Relay
10:00am Race start
10k Relay runners – Your first runner will set off from the start line at 10am with the subsequent team changeovers made at the Rowing Club on the course. When the 4th team member completes their lap the other team members joins him/her to run the last 50m to the finish line so you finish as a team. Only the 4th team member needs to finish to record the team time, the remaining team members finish to collect their medals.

Entrants can take part in a full marathon, a half marathon, or a relay marathon in teams of 2 or 4 participants, competing over a 10.5k looped course along the picturesque Bexhill Promenade. The winners of each category, both male and female for the individual competitions, with the quickest time will receive a prize. All entrants who complete their course will receive a medal.
10.5 k looped course along the Victorian sea front promenade. Predominantly a flat course but with 2 small hills at the eastern end that gives competitors an opportunity to record good personal times.

Race HQ / Start & Finish
The Start will be on the prom with the and Finish Line will be on the De La Warr Pavilion Lawns, next to the promenade. The Race will also have a base at the Bexhill Rowing Club, which is where the registration area and bag drop area will be based, and the changeover will be made for relay team runners.
The race will start at 10.00am, after the Children’s Races. The races will be started by a horn sounding and a bicycle will lead runners for the first lap. All races will hopefully be completed by 4pm.
There is plenty of free on road parking in Bexhill town centre, both on the seafront itself and nearby roads. There is also a pay and display car park at the De La Warr Pavilion.
Drink Stations with water will be available at the Rowing Club and at either end of the turning points of the race.
If you feel unwell and require medical help, or if you wish to withdraw from the race, inform a marshal. A medical team (with ambulance) will be based at the Start/Finish area and there will also be First Aiders on the course. Marshals will be stationed across the course and will have communication with the medical team should you need any assistance. It is recommended that you complete the medical information on the back of your running number.
There are toilets at Race HQ and also public toilets at three other locations on the course (East and West ends of Promenade and next to Rowing Social Club building). The on course toilets will be signed clearly.
There will be many marshals located throughout the course, at drinks stations, the start/finish area and Race HQ. They will do all they can to support you to ensure that you have a safe, enjoyable and successful race. Please remember they are all giving up their time to support you and the event and that without them it would not be possible for the race to take place.
The picturesque promenade course makes it perfect for spectators and supporters. The proximity of the course to the town centre of Bexhill means that there are many local cafes, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. The iconic De La Warr Pavilion is also situated on Bexhill seafront.
The Starfish Junior Races will take place between 9:00am and 9:45am and are open to children aged up to 14 years old. There will be three races: 500 metres, 1km and 2km. The entry fee is £3 per race. There will be medals for all participants and prizes for the best sea-themed fancy dress.
Prize Giving & Prizes
Prize Giving will take place shortly after the winners of each race have completed the course. Prizes will be awarded as follows:
Best individual male and female Marathon
Best individual male and female Half Marathon
Best 10K Relay Team
There will also be spot prizes. Each adult competitor’s number will be entered into a draw with the number drawn winning £100. All runners will receive a commemorative medal.
